Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission Hearing in Washington D.C.

On the 1-year anniversary of the fall and ethnic cleansing of Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh, the Center for Truth and Justice, in collaboration with Global Arm and Judeo-Christian groups, Save Armenia: A Judeo-Christian Alliance and Save the Persecuted Christians, undertook the extensive task of providing a delegation comprised of CFTJ staff, victims, and relatives of the fallen to provide testimony at the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission Hearing in Washington D.C. Ms. Sharmagh Mardi, CFTJ’s supervising lawyer, read through eye witness accounts of the torture and human rights violations committed by Azerbaijan extracted from the firsthand testimonies that CFTJ has taken in the last 4 years. Amplifying victims’ voices is a form of justice. Congressman Smith commended CFTJ’s collective efforts stating, “you cannot have accountability if you do not chronicle the abuse… and that will have a huge impact going forward.”
